Hey all... this is just a notice for all you hosting fans/users out there...
My hosting service runs on physical old computers that are on 24/7. There is no backup automation on these computers. Therefore you should not be reliant on my servers. They may break at any stage, die, burn-out, or actually burn in a fire without a moments notice. There is no maintenance done on these computers.
However, the good news is I do allow you to request a backup. Backup requests can be made once every two weeks max. These will export an exact image of your server (a snapshot) to a private repository on Docker Hub which only I have access to. If something should happen, then I can always launch your backed up droplet on a new server with ease, or share the image with you if you so choose to run it locally yourself. You may only have one saved backup at a time, so requesting a new one will over write any previous backup you have.
Regardless of this though, you should keep local backups of your site/services anyway. Do not rely on me. I am very unreliable.
Thank you...
Happy coding 🙂
